FACEIT Season 7 is Live

FACEIT Team

As we approach Season 7, we’re rolling out updates on platform integrity, making verified accounts harder to buy, sell or misuse. At the same time, we are reinventing Premium Match for players who want guaranteed lobbies where everyone is verified, subscribed, and has a match count that reflects their skill level. Season 7 will commence on 19 November with additional updates shared on the day. We’ll cover these at launch with today’s blog instead focusing on the integrity and premium experience upgrades you’ll start seeing first.

TL;DR - Today’s update is grouped into three categories:

  • Tighter checks for verified accounts and top high ranked players: We are launching selfie re-checks, a new ID verification feature that pauses suspicious verified accounts and asks players to take a new selfie to confirm identity. This makes it harder to buy, resell, or misuse accounts verified with someone else’s ID and increases confidence that verified accounts are tied to real players. Recognizing that current checks aren’t always sufficient, we are scaling our integrity review process, starting with a series of manual reviews of our highest-ranked players, where selected high-Elo players may be asked to verify their account history via video call or, in rare cases, a supervised play session.

  • A Higher Bar for Premium Match, With Veteran-Only Matching Expanding Across Core Queues: Previously, non-verified accounts could access Premium Super Match with a subscription and just 30 matches played. Today, Premium Super Match is relaunching as Premium Match, our highest-quality queue with a much stricter entry bar; available only to subscribers with verified accounts who meet a minimum requirement of 50 to 600 matches, depending on their skill level. We are also extending Veteran Matching beyond Premium, allowing veteran subscribers to enable veteran-only matches in 5v5 Standard and Super Match.

  • Richer reports to act on real offenders faster: The new reporting interface is now accessible from both match pages and player profiles, replacing the old FBI thumbs-down icon and merging the previous separate match and profile reports into a single report system that lets you submit more detailed, higher-quality reports. You can now pinpoint the exact round where the offense took place, upload screenshots, link videos, and add comments. High-quality reports will be prioritized over spam to ban real offenders faster, while giving you more frequent notifications when your report is received, reviewed, and resolved.

In the sections below we’ll explain what today’s updates are and how they will affect your experience in more detail:

Introducing ID Verification Selfie Re-checks for Verified Accounts

Previously, verified accounts could be bought or verified with someone else’s ID, and we lacked a reliable post-verification check to confirm the same person was still using the account. To address this, we’re launching selfie re-checks, a new ID verification feature that periodically suspends matchmaking access of suspicious verified accounts and prompts them to take a new selfie to confirm identity. The goal of this feature is to make it harder to buy, resell, or misuse accounts verified with another person’s ID. Here’s how it works:

  • Step 1: If your verified account meets certain risk criteria, when you open FACEIT you’ll get a notification to complete a quick selfie verification. All verified accounts have already completed this step as part of their initial verification process, we are simply asking you to do the selfie stage again to confirm you are the original verified owner of the account.

  • Step 2: You have a maximum of five attempts to pass the recheck. Until you do so, your verification is suspended and your account locked out of matchmaking. Once you take your selfie, our system will compare it to the encrypted biometric fingerprint originally linked to your verified account, stored securely by our trusted partner, Daon.

  • Step 3: If your selfie is a successful match, your account is verified and you can access matchmaking again. If all five selfie attempts are failed, the account will lose verification status and access to matchmaking, permanently in confirmed cases of account misuse.

If you want to learn more, we’ve prepared detailed guidelines on how to take selfie re-checks when asked to do so.

New Integrity Review Process For Top High Ranked Players

To protect integrity on FACEIT at the highest level, in addition to our integrity staff regularly scanning high ranked players, we may now proactively reach out to selected high-Elo players to verify details around their account background. This can include a video call and, in rarer cases, a supervised play session. This is the same online and in-person manual verification approach used in the integrity review of nocries published in October 2025, now being scaled so accounts with limited public history have a fair way to prove legitimacy. Failing these checks can result in loss of matchmaking access or platform bans.

This work is part of a new multi-stage process designed to be thorough while respecting the player, ensuring investigations are fair, focused, and timely. We advance to the next stage only if the previous one does not provide sufficient evidence:

  • Phase 1: Our Integrity teams analyze account history, behaviour patterns, and verify identity through Daon.
  • Phase 2: If step 1 is not sufficient, our staff will reach out for a chat, and may request a video call to corroborate details around the account’s background.
  • Phase 3: In rare cases, we may request a supervised play session.

Towards the end of this year, players who pass this process will receive a badge on their profile as a visible mark of legitimacy and trust, find out more here.

A Higher Bar for Premium Match, With Veteran-Only Matching Expanding Across Core Queues

When we launched FACEIT 2.0, we introduced Premium Super Match with the goal of creating a higher-quality, subscriber-only queue. However, its 30-match requirement meant both new-to-FACEIT and highly experienced accounts could access the same queue. This often forced the matchmaker to choose between very long waits or lobbies where experienced players were matched with teammates who had far fewer matches or unverified accounts.

To solve this, we are launching two major changes to improve matchmaking for subscribers on FACEIT:

  • Premium Super Match is officially relaunching as Premium Match, our highest-quality queue with a much stricter entry bar. In addition to being a subscriber-only queue, the new Premium Match will feature two new mandatory requirements to raise the quality of accounts able to access the queue: Requirement 1: Higher minimum match count: We have replaced the old flat 30-match rule with a new Veteran requirement that scales with your skill level, from 50 matches for Lvl1-4, up to 600 matches for 2500+ Elo level 10 players. Players must now reach the Veteran threshold for their level, proving their experience on FACEIT before they can access the queue. Requirement 2: ID verification now mandatory: ID verification is moving from optional to required. Every player in Premium Match must be verified, ensuring that all accounts in this queue have a confirmed identity.

  • Expanding Veteran Matching beyond Premium We are also expanding the new Veteran Matching outside of the Premium queue and Super Match, giving veteran subscribers the ability to choose if they want a veteran-only lobby in 5v5 Standard and Super Match. On the Match Type cards, you can now turn on the optional Veterans Only toggle. With this enabled, you will only be matched with other players who meet the Veteran requirements listed in the table here. To use this setting, everyone in your subscriber-only party must meet the minimum match count for their skill level.

Richer reports to act on real offenders faster

We receive around 300,000 unique reports every day. Some are detailed and actionable, but many are low-effort or spam, making it harder for our team to identify the reports that genuinely matter. To improve this, we are introducing a redesigned reporting system that lets you submit more detailed, higher-quality reports. With better context, these reports can be prioritized by our staff, helping us ban real offenders faster and reduce time spent on low-value or false reports.

The new reporting interface is now accessible from both match pages and player profiles, replacing the old FBI thumbs-down icon and merging the previous separate match and profile reports into a single report system that lets you submit more detailed, higher-quality reports. All changes can be grouped across three key improvements:

  • Longer reporting window: You will be able to report players from a match room or their profile. Instead of 10 minutes only, there will be a longer reporting window up to 6 hours after a match ends, giving you plenty of time to gather evidence and make an informative report.

  • More report context: Before, players could only type in text and not link any evidence to provide context to their report. Now, players can pinpoint the exact round the offense took place, upload screenshots, link videos, and add comments. As previously stated, the higher quality your report is, the bigger the chances it gets prioritized and the offender sees their punishment more quickly.

  • Receive more updates on your report: Before, you would only receive a notification informing you if the person you reported has been banned. Now, you will receive updates at key stages when a report is received, reviewed, and resolved.
