FACEIT April Patch Notes: Tracking Your Statistics In Our Mobile App, Preventing Scams and other updates!

FACEIT Aluminati

Here’s a quick Patch Notes update with some of the improvements we have shipped in April focused on bug fixing and quality-of-life. We know there are bigger conversations happening around core issues on FACEIT — and we haven’t lost sight of them. In particular for servers, we received over 900 responses to our recent survey in our post earlier this month and have been actively working through the feedback many of you shared with us recently. We have added a server report button on the match page to make it easier for you to tell us when things are going wrong, but in the meantime, we also want to keep the momentum on the smaller fixes that improve your day-to-day experience.

Here’s what’s new in April:

  • Track your performance, now available conveniently in our FACEIT mobile app
  • Lowering the number of scams by restricting QR code access exclusively to partners
  • Honing in on the server problems with a new button to report issues
  • Thanks to your feedback, we will be updating the ESEA League match pages, very soon
  • A New Limited Edition Cosmetic collection: Digital Overdrive

Track Your FACEIT Statistics On Mobile

Since adding our Elo widget and pushing more updates to the FACEIT Mobile app, more and more players have been checking in on their performance on their phone. Whether you’re bored on the bus or just wanting to browse while dead in-game, we want to give your phones more functionality and utility. This month, our mobile app now has its own dedicated Track section, a lite model of the desktop version. Now you can check which map you’re strongest on, fact-check your friend about who dealt more damage last match, and more!

Preventing Scams By Blocking QR Codes For Non-Partners

Our platform is open to support the community: from playing in matchmaking secured by our Anti-Cheat, to empowering communities to create a space to meet their ideal teammates. We’ve built tools like Clubs to help develop community projects, with successes like The Mongolz’s star players each starting in a local Club, or developing communities like TCL, where Turkish players can come together and find like-minded competitors with no language barrier.

However, by opening functionality to external organisers, impersonators and scammers can try to take advantage of players and steal their skins.

We have been cracking down on these accounts with investigations, bans and proactively trying to protect players by automatically highlighting when a link is directing you away from FACEIT. However, scammers evolved and were trying to use QR codes to get around our warnings. We’re committed to protecting you from malicious behaviour and we’ve recently blocked accounts from posting QR codes unless they are marked as trusted.

If you need help running your events or have a legitimate case for posting QR codes on FACEIT, please contact [email protected] by email and we see what we can do to support you. If you see any suspicious behaviour or believe an account is trying to scam other players, please report them here so we can swiftly ban them and prevent them from scamming other players.

Further Updates

Matchmaking

  • Added server report button for if/when servers are having issues
  • Distributed Season 4 badges + FPL badges
  • Matchmaking Season 4 reset for players with 3,200 Elo and above
  • Added notification to all party members when the party leader changes game, eg from Counter-Strike to Overwatch 2
  • Fixed a bug where Ladders that were multi-region were not displaying in the 'All Ladders' section
  • Queues that have schedules are now displayed in the Matchmaking info box
  • Fixed issue where sometimes vetoes were not displayed on the Match room

ESEA League & Tournaments

  • During April, we have been getting feedback on our ESEA League social media about your favorite statistics and will be sharing updated League match pages shortly
  • Community organisers can now create 3rd place decider matches for tournaments hosted on FACEIT. Learn more about hosting your own tournaments on FACEIT here

Party Finder and Clubs

  • Receive instant notifications when a friend invites you to a Club.
  • Clubs now load in a modal, making it quicker for you to check them out without losing your place moving to a full new page
  • Improved Club sorting to filter for multiple criteria, helping you find relevant Clubs, faster.
  • Club moderators can now evaluate your application faster, as pending applications are highlighted for them and summarise more of your profile (like Elo).
  • In Party Finder, when you queue, you are automatically removed from Party Finder so you aren’t interrupted by new players joining your group. If you stop the queue, now we’ll automatically repost the party again so you can get back to finding teammates.
  • You can now remove yourself from the Party Finder, even if your party is full.
  • Fixed an issue where the scrollbar in Clubs would not function correctly on low-resolution screens.
  • Fixed an issue where party member skill levels were not visible on low-resolution screens.

FACEIT Voice

  • New server gateway halved the error rate when joining
  • Made it easier to see which party you are using with a symbol beside the avatar

FACEIT Watch

  • Fixed a bug preventing FACEIT points from being dropped

Thanks for checking out our improvements in our April Patch Notes! We’re looking forward to bringing you more updates soon as we continue to tweak, fix, and update FACEIT to help you reach your CS2 goals: whether that’s just enjoying a more competitive match, or grinding to dethrone donk and make a name for yourself in the professional scene!
